Dentures in Aberdeen, NJ

At Friendly Dental, we offer full and partial dentures to fit your specific needs.

A partial denture is a removable, yet natural-looking dental appliance that replaces one or more missing teeth to help restore the form and function of your jaw. Partial dentures comprise a metal and acrylic mix, which offers them the power to manage your chewing and speaking needs while also looking natural. Some partial dentures are entirely composed of acrylic; these dentures are less durable and structurally sound, but they may be a viable option for you depending on your circumstances.

Full dentures are a set of custom-made removable tooth replacements. A full denture covers the entire mouth rather than just a portion of it. It is a removable device designed to replace missing teeth and is used by people who have lost all of their teeth. Acrylic is commonly used to make complete dentures. Dentures not only improve the appearance of your mouth (most are incredibly realistic, making it appear as if you have all of your teeth), but they can also make you feel more confident.

Denture Process

Initial Consultation: We begin with a full exam and conversation about your goals. We’ll evaluate your gums and remaining teeth (if any) and discuss the best type of denture for your needs—full or partial.

Impressions and Measurements: Next, we take precise impressions and measurements of your mouth. This ensures that your custom dentures will fit comfortably and look natural.

Tooth Removal (if needed): If any remaining teeth need to be extracted, we’ll schedule the procedure. We use local anesthetic and nitrous oxide, so you’ll be comfortable.

Next Steps

Try-in and Fitting Appointments: You’ll try on a model of your dentures to check the fit, comfort, and appearance. Adjustments are made before the final version is created.

Final Denture Placement: Once your final dentures are ready, we’ll place them and ensure a secure, proper fit. We’ll show you how to insert, remove, and care for them.

Adjustment Period and Follow-up: It’s normal to need small adjustments as your mouth gets used to your new dentures. We’ll schedule follow-ups to fine-tune the fit and comfort.

FAQ

  • What is the difference between full and partial dentures?

Full dentures replace all teeth in an upper or lower arch, while partial dentures fill gaps when some natural teeth still remain.

  • How do dentures help with chewing and speaking?

Dentures help restore chewing and speaking abilities by filling the gaps in your smile with stable, functional replacements that are shaped and fitted to match your bite. With dentures, you can chew more efficiently, which improves digestion and allows you to enjoy a wider variety of foods. They also support your lips, cheeks, and tongue, which play key roles in forming words.

  • What is the best way to care for dentures at home?

Clean them daily with a soft brush and non-abrasive cleaner. Soak overnight in water or a denture solution to keep them moist and clean.
